Intergenerational Ministries
One of the joys of being at Valley is participating in the variety of intergenerational events we have. In 2014 we added a staff position, our Director of Family Ministries Megan Christian, to plan and organize events just about every month. Sometimes we engage in a mission project, like making sandwiches and serving at Chapel on the Green in New Haven or for Dorothy Day House. Sometimes we host things for the community, like our Breakfast with Santa and our Glow-in-the-Dark Easter Egg Hunt. Some of our fun just helps us get to know one another better, like the fabulous auction we had this winter where we bid with "Valley Bucks" on gifts and talents offered by other members of the congregation.
Without a doubt, some of the best memories were made at our Intergenerational Vacation Bible School the last three summers. We got together for three evenings in a row in late August, had dinner together, went to different classes for Bible study/story, worked on crafts together and worshipped together (check out some of our pics here!).
No matter your age, there is something fun to do here at Valley, while learning and growing together as a Christian community!
